Natural Cures for Menstrual Cramps

Menstrual cramps are the cramping in the lower abdomen, back, or thighs. You may also have headaches, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, dizziness, or fainting. This happens usually in the first or second day of the menstrual cycle. These are caused contractions of the uterus as it expels its unneeded contents, and also by the passage of clotted blood through the cervix.

Menstrual Cramps are also known as Dysmenorrhea, Menorrhagia, Amenorrhea, or Heavy menstrual bleeding. This disorder is traceable to a debilitated and toxic condition of the system in general and of the sex organs in particular due to a wrong diet, wrong style of living and nervous exhaustion.

How To Reduce The Menstrual Pain Naturally?

The diet factor is of the utmost importance. Fruits and salads , nature’s body-cleansing and health-restoring foods, must be taken to restore the balance.

The sufferer from menstrual disorders should begin with an all-fruit diet for about 2-5 days depending on her condition. In this regimen, the patient should have three meals a day of fresh, juicy fruits and vegetables such as :

Apples, pears, grapes, papaya, oranges, pineapple, peaches and melon, prunes, cherry, spinach, lettuce turnips and beet.

Suggested Vegetables.....

Carrot , cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, tomatoes, radish, red beets and onion and mung bean sprouts.

Fruit Juices.....

Lukewarm water mixed with the freshly squeezed juice of half a lime and a spoon of honey, carrot juice, sugarcane juice, apple juice and fresh milk (this is not fruit juice).

What kind of food to be avoided during Menstrual Cramps?

The foods which should be avoided/ lessen are white-flour products, sugar, confectionery, rich cakes, pastries, sweets, refined cereals, flesh foods, rich, heavy, or greasy foods, tinned or preserved foods, strong tea, coffee, caffeine, pickles, condiments and sauces. Smoking and Drinking Alcohol, if habitual, should be given up completely as it aggravates menstrual disorders.

I know it varies from person to person, but I have found that a glass of wine lessens the severity of my cramps dramatically. Was relieved to discover this after trying lots of other cures.

i agree on the fact that it varies from person to person, but my period is horrible. i do not get back pain or headaces, but i have very painful abdominal cramps. i have even passed out a few times because of my low iron and loosing blood. but my period last about 7 days, and the first 3-4 days are all cramping. i have tried every medication, even doctor recomandations. nothing works for me.

I am 15 years old and have been suffering from severe cramping in my back, legs, and abdomen for 4 years and I have found that eating bananas, and yogurt right before cramps should start can help a lot. A small piece of chocolate when the cramps get to bad can lessen the pain, and if you suffer from diarrhea sitting on the toilet for 15 - 20 minutes with your legs straight out in front of you or up on the ledge of the toilet can help. Hope this helps <3

Take castor oil and massage it into pelvic region, then use a heating pad or heating compress. This works wonders in about 5 minutes. Also Womens Moon cycle tea is great, take lots of vitamin B complex, and Calcium. Also the best is try a Mayan Abdominal Massage, if there is is therapist in your area who does it. These all work and I use to suffer BIG time now my cramps are under control.
