Guidelines for OPTIMUM NUTRITIONS

  1. Make half your daily diet starchy complex carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, and wholegrain.
  2. Eat at least five portions a day of fruit and vegetables, preferably organic.
  3. Obtain poultry, fish, pulses, cereal and low fat diary products, rather than red meat.
  4. Use skimmed milk and low fat dairy products instead of full fat foods.
  5. Eat oily fish for essential fatty acids.
  6. Use olive oils or other unsaturated oils for salads and cooking.
  7. Eat plenty of foods high in fibers.
  8. Steam vegetables rather than frying or boiling.
  9. Drink fruit juices and enough water to keep urine pale.
